The purpose of Requestor is to send request to payee bank while performing VOP checks. The purpose of Responder is to compare the payee details held in the bank database with the details received from the requestor. The result of the name/ID matching is sent back to the requestor using "Global Name Match Result" and various "Reason Codes".

VOP checks can only be done with banks that have subscribed to the EPC VOP scheme directly or through an RVM.
EPC VOP scheme supports ID checks only for Business Accounts. Name checks are possible for both personal and business accounts. However, only one (either Name or ID) can be sent in a single VOP Request.
